Paying for concrete work
Financing for driveways, RV pads, pool decks and slabs; what insurance does and doesn't cover; and how to spend less without building it wrong.
Financing
Most Surprise driveways, RV pads, pool decks and shop slabs land between $4,000 and $15,000, and many homeowners spread that out. We work with a national home-improvement lender: apply on your phone, soft credit pull to pre-qualify, terms from a 12-month same-as-cash promotion to a 10-year fixed loan, funds paid to us when the job is done and you've signed off. A HELOC is usually cheaper if you have one.
Insurance
Soil movement, settlement and cracking are excluded on nearly every Arizona homeowners policy; a heaved or sunken driveway is a maintenance issue to the insurer. What can be covered: a slab damaged by a vehicle or a fallen tree, a slab damaged by a plumbing leak under it, storm damage from a monsoon event. If it came from an event, we photograph and document it for the claim.
Spending less without building it wrong
- Combine jobs — driveway and patio together saves 8–12 percent and one HOA submittal.
- Resurface a sound but sun-beaten slab instead of replacing it.
- Lift a sunk driveway in large sound pieces instead of replacing it.
- Recoat the pool deck instead of tearing it out.
- Broom finish where nobody sees it; save the stamped concrete and cool deck for the backyard.
- Don't skip the base or the early start — they're the two things that decide whether you buy this slab once or twice.
What we don't do
- Take full payment up front, or cash-only deals.
- Skip the approach permit or the HOA submittal to save you the fee.
- Pour at 10 a.m. in July, or add water at the truck, to hit a lower price.
Questions about paying for concrete
What financing do you offer?
Third-party home-improvement financing with a soft-pull pre-qualification, terms from a 12-month same-as-cash promotion to 10-year fixed, approvals in minutes, funds paid at completion.
What's the minimum job for financing?
About $2,000 — a driveway, an RV pad, a pool deck, a shop slab.
Does homeowners insurance cover a cracked driveway?
Almost never — settlement and soil movement are excluded on Arizona policies. Damage from a covered event (a vehicle, a fallen tree, a plumbing leak under a slab) can be. We document it if there's a claim.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, no surcharge on the deposit; a small processing fee on large balances, disclosed on the quote.
Is there a discount for combining jobs?
Yes — driveway and patio, or RV pad and walkway, in one mobilization saves 8 to 12 percent and one HOA submittal.
