Concrete curbing that keeps the rock where it belongs
Desert landscaping is rock, and rock migrates — onto the sidewalk, into the lawn, across the driveway. Extruded concrete curbing stops it, defines the beds, and lasts decades where plastic and steel edging fail.
Almost every front yard in Surprise is decomposed granite and rock over weed barrier, and every one of them has the same problem: the rock spills onto the sidewalk and driveway, the grass (if there is any) creeps into the beds, and the plastic edging the landscaper installed has heaved out of the ground. Extruded concrete curbing — poured continuously through a curbing machine, 4 to 6 inches wide, in a profile and color that suits the house — fixes it permanently. It holds the rock, gives the mower a strip to run on, and outlasts everything else on the market.
We install it in a day for most yards: grade and compact the line, extrude the curb in the profile you choose, cut control joints, stamp or texture if you want a stone or brick look, and seal. Colors match tan, brown and gray desert palettes; the classic slant or mower profile is standard. It's also the right border for artificial turf, a tree ring, or the edge of a gravel driveway.

Questions we get about landscape curbing
How long does concrete curbing last?
Twenty years or more; it's a small continuous concrete beam. Cracking at control joints is normal and invisible; a curb hit by a car can be patched in a section.
Will it crack?
Concrete cracks at the control joints we cut, where it's meant to. Roots and vehicle impacts are the only things that break it elsewhere.
Can it curve?
Yes — freeform curves are what the machine does best. Tight radii under about 3 feet are hand-formed.
Does the HOA care?
Rarely for curbing inside the yard; some Sun City communities want a color that matches the house. We'll check.
Can you match my house color?
Integral color in tans, browns and grays matches most stucco palettes; we bring samples.
How soon can I put the rock back?
Twenty-four hours.
