Walkways are the small jobs that make a Surprise front yard work: the curved walk from the driveway to the door that replaces the builder's straight strip, the path along the side yard to the RV gate or the trash cans, the porch slab extension, the steps down to a sunken patio. They're poured at four inches with fiber or mesh, broom-finished or colored to match the house, and jointed so they don't crack across the middle.
City sidewalk sections are a different job. In Surprise the homeowner is generally responsible for the sidewalk in front of the house, and a section lifted by a tree root or dropped by a leaking irrigation line is a trip hazard the HOA and the city both notice. We replace sections to City of Surprise standards — thickness, joints, ADA slope — pull the right-of-way permit, and root-prune or sleeve the irrigation so it doesn't happen again.

Questions we get about walkways & sidewalks
Am I responsible for the sidewalk in front of my house?
In Surprise, generally yes for repair and replacement, unless the damage is from a city tree or utility. We pull the right-of-way permit and replace it to the city's spec.
Can I pour a walkway myself?
A small one, sure — but a 4×30 walk is a yard and a half of concrete and it sets in 45 minutes in June. Most DIY walks we see are replaced within five years.
Do walkways need rebar?
Fiber-reinforced mix or wire mesh is enough for foot traffic; rebar where a vehicle will cross. Control joints every 4 to 5 feet are what keep them from cracking.
Can you match my driveway's color?
Integral color can match a colored driveway closely; plain gray concrete evens out over a year or two.
How soon can I walk on it?
Twenty-four hours for foot traffic, seven days before anything heavy.
Do you do the landscaping afterward?
We reset the rock and drip line we moved. Larger landscape work we'll refer.
